Review: The Balm Schwing Black Liquid Eyeliner

Decided to try out The Balms "Schwing" liquid liner, just because I felt I had the need for a matte liquid liner.
So first off, packaging. The Balms packaging is aaaalways super cute! Look at'em gurrrlz checkin out that aaaass! The actual eyeliner has the same exact packaging as the Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner, which is'nt that weird since they are made in the same factory.

They claim:
"Lining and defining eyes has never been easier! Built with a uniquely thin and tapered felt-tip applicator, Schwing gives you careful control over subtle strokes and bold lines. Create winning looks with this rich, matte-black finish that won’t smudge, flake, or take forever to dry. Cool and compact, Schwing fits wherever you need it. Whether you’re home or away, get ready to bat those eyes and play the field!"

I do agree with their statements! The felt-tip is super thin and easy to use, it is suuuper black and dries quickly to a matte finish. It does not flake, but it will smudge a bit if you're like me with oily lids (my eyeliner always smudges at the outer corners, down under the eye, ugh.) It stays on well with out smudging on the lid though!

 Both are jet black!

The Balm Schwing Liquid Liner does not claim to be waterproof, or even water resistant, but I wanted to try it any way. This is under running water and just a simple rub over the eyeliners.

Conclusion:
I do really like this eyeliner! It's not too expensive ($17), the formula is really good and it's super easy to work with! It would be cool it they made more colors, because at the moment, the only color is black.
I have some 'buts' though. Im not a fan of the felt tip, even though it's super thin (which I love). Felt-tips are always a bit too hard and stern for my eyes, so Im not usually a fan of them. Though I have only been using this eyeliner for about a week, so maybe it will soften a bit.
Also, since my eyes are a bit oily and the eyeliner smudges at the corners, I wish it would withstand that sort of thing more, I can't be the only person in the world with that issue.

All in all. Great liner. I'm not sure I will repurchase though, because I do enjoy my UD Liquid Liner a bit more, just for that tip and waterproof-ness. I do wish that UD would realese a matte version though....
